A training agency is currently reviewing part of its operations. It runs one particular scheme whereby young people who are unemployed are put through a training course which provides them with a variety of IT skills including word-processing, spreadsheets, database systems, e-mail and the Internet. On completion of the training course, participants take a standard test and receive an ability score (from 0 to 40, with 40 being the highest). The training agency then finds them a suitable job with a local company. The agency is trying to assess the wages its trainees receive from the companies they go to work for in relation to the ability test score they received and the number of years of prior, relevant job experience the trainees had. Data has been collected as given in Table 10.19.
Analyse the data to assess whether Wage could be reliably predicted based on score and years of experience.
